The Sanskrit edition of the Yoga-vasistha including English translation and grammatical analysis. The Yogavasistha is a Hindu spiritual text written by Valmiki (who also authored the Ramayana) dealing with the philosophical topics from the Advaita-vedanta school. Chronologically it precedes the Ramayana.

Verse 7.80.4

तत एकार्णवापूरो विरिञ्चनगरान्तरम् ।
रात्रौ भुवमिव ध्वान्तं पूरयामास सूर्मिमान् ॥ ४ ॥

tata ekārṇavāpūro viriñcanagarāntaram |
rātrau bhuvamiva dhvāntaṃ pūrayāmāsa sūrmimān || 4 ||

Then the waters of the universal ocean, invaded the celestial city of Brahma, and over flooded its surface, as the shade of night fills the face of the earth darkness.
