The Sanskrit edition of the Yoga-vasistha including English translation and grammatical analysis. The Yogavasistha is a Hindu spiritual text written by Valmiki (who also authored the Ramayana) dealing with the philosophical topics from the Advaita-vedanta school. Chronologically it precedes the Ramayana.

नाकाशमासीन्न दिगन्त आसीदधोऽपि नासीन्न तदूर्ध्वमासीत् ।
भूतं न आसीन्न च सर्ग आसीदासीत्परं केवलमेव वारि ॥ २८ ॥
nākāśamāsīnna diganta āsīdadho'pi nāsīnna tadūrdhvamāsīt |
bhūtaṃ na āsīnna ca sarga āsīdāsītparaṃ kevalameva vāri || 28 ||
There remained neither the sky nor the horizon, there was no upside nor downward in the infinite space; there was no creation nor a creature any where, but all were submerged under one infinite sheet of water.
