एकार्णवोऽथ ववृधे शनै शीघ्रं सरिच्छतैः ।
भुवने जलकल्लोलैः कोपो मूर्खाशये यथा ॥ ४५ ॥

ekārṇavo'tha vavṛdhe śanai śīghraṃ saricchataiḥ |
bhuvane jalakallolaiḥ kopo mūrkhāśaye yathā || 45 ||

Then the universal ocean, was swollen with the waters of all its tributary seas and rivers; and there was a loud uproar of the rolling waters, resembling the clamour of the enraged madman.
