The Sanskrit edition of the Yoga-vasistha including English translation and grammatical analysis. The Yogavasistha is a Hindu spiritual text written by Valmiki (who also authored the Ramayana) dealing with the philosophical topics from the Advaita-vedanta school. Chronologically it precedes the Ramayana.

Verse 7.74.4

ब्रह्मात्मैष स्वसंकल्पं स्वमण्डमकरोद्द्विधा ।
तैजसं तैजसाकारः पुष्टः पुष्टं विहंगवत् ॥ ४ ॥

brahmātmaiṣa svasaṃkalpaṃ svamaṇḍamakaroddvidhā |
taijasaṃ taijasākāraḥ puṣṭaḥ puṣṭaṃ vihaṃgavat || 4 ||

Then Brahma divided this imaginary world of his in twain. It was of a luminous form, from which he came out as a luminary, like a bird matured in its egg.
