The Sanskrit edition of the Yoga-vasistha including English translation and grammatical analysis. The Yogavasistha is a Hindu spiritual text written by Valmiki (who also authored the Ramayana) dealing with the philosophical topics from the Advaita-vedanta school. Chronologically it precedes the Ramayana.

चिदणुर्यत्र भातोऽसौ देशो मितिमुपागतः ।
यदा भातस्तदा कालो यद्भानं तत्क्रिया स्मृता ॥ १९ ॥

cidaṇuryatra bhāto'sau deśo mitimupāgataḥ |
yadā bhātastadā kālo yadbhānaṃ tatkriyā smṛtā || 19 ||

Wherever the particle of the intellect shines (or that which is perceptible to it); is called the place (or object), and whenever it is perceived the same is termed as time, and the act of perception is styled the action.
