The Sanskrit edition of the Yoga-vasistha including English translation and grammatical analysis. The Yogavasistha is a Hindu spiritual text written by Valmiki (who also authored the Ramayana) dealing with the philosophical topics from the Advaita-vedanta school. Chronologically it precedes the Ramayana.

पुस्फोटेव पतन्ती द्यौर्दिशां पतिरवारवैः ।
आवर्तवलनाकाराः केतवः पेतुरम्बरात् ॥ ५० ॥

pusphoṭeva patantī dyaurdiśāṃ patiravāravaiḥ |
āvartavalanākārāḥ ketavaḥ peturambarāt || 50 ||

The sky was split into pieces, and fell down in fragments; and the regents of the skies fled afar with loud cries. And comets and meteors were hurled from heaven, in the forms of whirlpools.
