The Sanskrit edition of the Yoga-vasistha including English translation and grammatical analysis. The Yogavasistha is a Hindu spiritual text written by Valmiki (who also authored the Ramayana) dealing with the philosophical topics from the Advaita-vedanta school. Chronologically it precedes the Ramayana.

Verse 7.64.6

तत्र द्वीपैः समुद्रैश्च वलितं वलयैरिव ।
पाटलोत्थं जगल्लक्ष्म्याः प्रकोष्ठमिव भूतलम् ॥ ६ ॥

tatra dvīpaiḥ samudraiśca valitaṃ valayairiva |
pāṭalotthaṃ jagallakṣmyāḥ prakoṣṭhamiva bhūtalam || 6 ||

Here is the sombre surface of the earth, appearing as the store-house of the world; and beset with numerous islands surrounded by oceans and seas.
