Chronologically it precedes the Ramayana.

त्वादृशानुभवेहानामगम्याभ्यागतानि च ।
असमञ्जसरूपाणि कथ्यमानानि मादृशैः ओ ॥ ३८ ॥

tvādṛśānubhavehānāmagamyābhyāgatāni ca |
asamañjasarūpāṇi kathyamānāni mādṛśaiḥ o || 38 ||
