The Sanskrit edition of the Yoga-vasistha including English translation and grammatical analysis. The Yogavasistha is a Hindu spiritual text written by Valmiki (who also authored the Ramayana) dealing with the philosophical topics from the Advaita-vedanta school. Chronologically it precedes the Ramayana.

Verse 7.57.11

मनःषष्ठेन्द्रियातीतं मनःषष्ठेन्द्रियात्मनः ।
साकारस्य निराकारं कथं भवति कारणम् ॥ ११ ॥

manaḥṣaṣṭhendriyātītaṃ manaḥṣaṣṭhendriyātmanaḥ |
sākārasya nirākāraṃ kathaṃ bhavati kāraṇam || 11 ||

The Lord is beyond (the conception of) the mind, and (the perception of) the six senses, and is yet the source of the mind and senses; but how could that formless and incorporeal being, be the cause of material and corporeal things?
