The Sanskrit edition of the Yoga-vasistha including English translation and grammatical analysis. The Yogavasistha is a Hindu spiritual text written by Valmiki (who also authored the Ramayana) dealing with the philosophical topics from the Advaita-vedanta school. Chronologically it precedes the Ramayana.

नेह प्रजायते किंचिन्नेह किंचन नश्यति ।
उपदेश्योपदेशार्थं शब्दार्थकलनोदयः ॥ ४ ॥

neha prajāyate kiṃcinneha kiṃcana naśyati |
upadeśyopadeśārthaṃ śabdārthakalanodayaḥ || 4 ||

There is nothing that is produced here, nor anything which is destroyed also; it is only for the instruction and comprehension of pupils, that such words are coined and made use of.
