The Sanskrit edition of the Yoga-vasistha including English translation and grammatical analysis. The Yogavasistha is a Hindu spiritual text written by Valmiki (who also authored the Ramayana) dealing with the philosophical topics from the Advaita-vedanta school. Chronologically it precedes the Ramayana.

ज्ञेनामलपदस्थेन दीपेनेव निरस्यते ।
तमो हार्दं तथा बाह्यं रागद्वेषभयादि च ॥ १७ ॥

jñenāmalapadasthena dīpeneva nirasyate |
tamo hārdaṃ tathā bāhyaṃ rāgadveṣabhayādi ca || 17 ||

The seer who has seen the glory of God, is situated in the region of light; and like a lighted lamp, he dispels his inner darkness, together with all his outward fears, animosities and affections.
