The Yogavasistha is a Hindu spiritual text written by Valmiki (who also authored the Ramayana) dealing with the philosophical topics from the Advaita-vedanta school. Chronologically it precedes the Ramayana.

बोधादेकं जगद्भावैर्जाड्यान्नात्मत्वमागतम् ।
मिथो बोधाद्द्विवदति मैत्रीं भजति बोधतः ॥ ६१ ॥

bodhādekaṃ jagadbhāvairjāḍyānnātmatvamāgatam |
mitho bodhāddvivadati maitrīṃ bhajati bodhataḥ || 61 ||

To the right understanding the whole world with all its living beings, appears as one with one's self; but men of dull understandings, bear no mutual sympathy to one another. The knowledge of twain, tends to difference and disunion betwixt man and man; but that of oneness unity leads men to fellow-feeling and union.
