223,437 words | ISBN-10: 8171101519

The Sanskrit edition of the Yoga-vasistha including English translation and grammatical analysis. The Yogavasistha is a Hindu spiritual text written by Valmiki (who also authored the Ramayana) dealing with the philosophical topics from the Advaita-vedanta school. Chronologically it precedes the Ramayana.

Verse 7.45.56

निर्मूलापि जगद्भ्रान्तिर्येनाशु न विलीयते ।
यथाज्ञस्य जगज्ज्ञप्तिरपज्ञानात्प्रदीप्यते ॥ ५६ ॥

nirmūlāpi jagadbhrāntiryenāśu na vilīyate |
yathājñasya jagajjñaptirapajñānātpradīpyate || 56 ||

Though the world is known to be an unfounded fallacy, yet it is hard to remove this error from the mind; but on the other hand it increases like the knowledge of ignorant men of it, by their ignorance.
