The Sanskrit edition of the Yoga-vasistha including English translation and grammatical analysis. The Yogavasistha is a Hindu spiritual text written by Valmiki (who also authored the Ramayana) dealing with the philosophical topics from the Advaita-vedanta school. Chronologically it precedes the Ramayana.

ज्ञस्यानाराधको ध्येयबोधो नयतु यो भवेत् ।
अनन्ता सा वितृष्णस्य निर्विभागोदितः स्वयम् ॥ ४३ ॥

jñasyānārādhako dhyeyabodho nayatu yo bhavet |
anantā sā vitṛṣṇasya nirvibhāgoditaḥ svayam || 43 ||

The learned man does not prosper in his meditation, though he may employ all his knowledge to it; because he is divided in himself by his various desires, though he was made as the whole and undivided image of himself.
