The Sanskrit edition of the Yoga-vasistha including English translation and grammatical analysis. The Yogavasistha is a Hindu spiritual text written by Valmiki (who also authored the Ramayana) dealing with the philosophical topics from the Advaita-vedanta school. Chronologically it precedes the Ramayana.

Verse 7.43.42

एकत्वादर्थमनसी सममेवाशु शाम्यतः ।
अर्थः संकल्परूपात्मा नेहितव्यो विजानतो ॥ ४२ ॥

ekatvādarthamanasī samamevāśu śāmyataḥ |
arthaḥ saṃkalparūpātmā nehitavyo vijānato || 42 ||

The mind and its working being one and the same thing, they are both controuled at once by bringing the other under subjection; know this well, nobody should cherish any earthly desire in order to foster his mind.
