The Sanskrit edition of the Yoga-vasistha including English translation and grammatical analysis. The Yogavasistha is a Hindu spiritual text written by Valmiki (who also authored the Ramayana) dealing with the philosophical topics from the Advaita-vedanta school. Chronologically it precedes the Ramayana.

यथा स्वभावनाद्यक्षस्तरौ सस्वजनं पुरम् ।
पश्यत्यसत्यमेवैवं जीवः पश्यति संसृतिम् ॥ ५ ॥

yathā svabhāvanādyakṣastarau sasvajanaṃ puram |
paśyatyasatyamevaivaṃ jīvaḥ paśyati saṃsṛtim || 5 ||

As one sees the chimera of a magic city in a forest, and filled with the families of Yakshas all about; so doth the living soul, look upon this world and all its contents.
