The Sanskrit edition of the Yoga-vasistha including English translation and grammatical analysis. The Yogavasistha is a Hindu spiritual text written by Valmiki (who also authored the Ramayana) dealing with the philosophical topics from the Advaita-vedanta school. Chronologically it precedes the Ramayana.

Verse 7.42.23

कथमव्योमता व्योम्नि द्वितीयासंभवाद्भवेत् ।
प्रतिभात्मैव भारूपो भाति सर्गो महाचिति ॥ २३ ॥

kathamavyomatā vyomni dvitīyāsaṃbhavādbhavet |
pratibhātmaiva bhārūpo bhāti sargo mahāciti || 23 ||

As it is impossible for vacuity to be another thing than vacuum, and the reflection of light is no other than the very light; so this creation resides in and radiates from the great intellect.
