The Sanskrit edition of the Yoga-vasistha including English translation and grammatical analysis. The Yogavasistha is a Hindu spiritual text written by Valmiki (who also authored the Ramayana) dealing with the philosophical topics from the Advaita-vedanta school. Chronologically it precedes the Ramayana.

भोगा भवमहारोगा बन्धवो दृढबन्धनम् ।
अनर्थायार्थसंपत्तिरात्मनात्मनि शाम्यताम् ॥ ४ ॥
bhogā bhavamahārogā bandhavo dṛḍhabandhanam |
anarthāyārthasaṃpattirātmanātmani śāmyatām || 4 ||
Our enjoyments and our greatest ailments on earth, and our kindred and relations are our strongest bondages here; our wealth is for our bale and woe, therefore hold yourself to yourself alone.
