The Sanskrit edition of the Yoga-vasistha including English translation and grammatical analysis. The Yogavasistha is a Hindu spiritual text written by Valmiki (who also authored the Ramayana) dealing with the philosophical topics from the Advaita-vedanta school. Chronologically it precedes the Ramayana.

Verse 7.40.3

यदा स्वभावविश्रान्तिः स्थितिमेति शमात्मिका ।
जगद्दृश्यं तदा स्वप्नः सुषुप्त इव शाम्यति ॥ ३ ॥

yadā svabhāvaviśrāntiḥ sthitimeti śamātmikā |
jagaddṛśyaṃ tadā svapnaḥ suṣupta iva śāmyati || 3 ||

But when this external nature disappears and subsides in the inner soul, it is then that this phenomenal world is absorbed like a dream in the sound sleeping state of the soul.
