The Sanskrit edition of the Yoga-vasistha including English translation and grammatical analysis. The Yogavasistha is a Hindu spiritual text written by Valmiki (who also authored the Ramayana) dealing with the philosophical topics from the Advaita-vedanta school. Chronologically it precedes the Ramayana.

Verse 7.38.31

दृश्याद्यो विरतिं यात आत्मारामः शमं गतः ।
स सन्नेवासदाभासः परितीर्णभवार्णवः ॥ ३१ ॥

dṛśyādyo viratiṃ yāta ātmārāmaḥ śamaṃ gataḥ |
sa sannevāsadābhāsaḥ paritīrṇabhavārṇavaḥ || 31 ||

That man is said to have gone across the ocean of the world, who has withdrawn himself from the sight of visibles; who is quiet and content with himself, and who while he is living, reckons himself with the dead and as nothing.
