यस्त्विच्छातानवे यत्नं न करोति नराधमः ।
सोऽन्धकूपे स्वमात्मानं दिनानुदिनमुज्झति ॥ ३१ ॥

yastvicchātānave yatnaṃ na karoti narādhamaḥ |
so'ndhakūpe svamātmānaṃ dinānudinamujjhati || 31 ||

He who does not try to diminish his desires day by day, is reckoned as the meanest of men, and is destined to dive in misery every day.
