The Sanskrit edition of the Yoga-vasistha including English translation and grammatical analysis. The Yogavasistha is a Hindu spiritual text written by Valmiki (who also authored the Ramayana) dealing with the philosophical topics from the Advaita-vedanta school. Chronologically it precedes the Ramayana.

Verse 7.36.28

यथा यथेच्छा घनतां याति लोकस्य रागतः ।
तथा तथा विवर्धन्ते दुःखचिन्ताविषोर्मयः ॥ २८ ॥

yathā yathecchā ghanatāṃ yāti lokasya rāgataḥ |
tathā tathā vivardhante duḥkhacintāviṣormayaḥ || 28 ||

The more doth a man cherish his fond desire in his mind, the more does it boil and rage and wave in his breast.
