The Sanskrit edition of the Yoga-vasistha including English translation and grammatical analysis. The Yogavasistha is a Hindu spiritual text written by Valmiki (who also authored the Ramayana) dealing with the philosophical topics from the Advaita-vedanta school. Chronologically it precedes the Ramayana.

ममेदमिति बन्धाय नाहमित्येव मुक्तये ।
एतावन्मात्रके वस्तुन्यात्मायत्ते किमज्ञता ॥ २२ ॥

mamedamiti bandhāya nāhamityeva muktaye |
etāvanmātrake vastunyātmāyatte kimajñatā || 22 ||

The disbelief in one's self or his egoism, removes his meity (mamata) or selfishness also; and it being possible to everyone to get rid of them, how is it that he should be ignorant of it?
