The Yogavasistha is a Hindu spiritual text written by Valmiki (who also authored the Ramayana) dealing with the philosophical topics from the Advaita-vedanta school. Chronologically it precedes the Ramayana.

उपर्युपर्यन्तरतः कदलीदलपीठवत् ।
श्लिष्टाश्लिष्टस्वरूपाः खे मिथः संसृतयः स्थिताः ॥ ३ ॥

uparyuparyantarataḥ kadalīdalapīṭhavat |
śliṣṭāśliṣṭasvarūpāḥ khe mithaḥ saṃsṛtayaḥ sthitāḥ || 3 ||

These creations are placed over and above and below and under one another, like the coatings of a plantain tree; and they are either in contact with or detached from one another like clouds in the sky.
