The Sanskrit edition of the Yoga-vasistha including English translation and grammatical analysis. The Yogavasistha is a Hindu spiritual text written by Valmiki (who also authored the Ramayana) dealing with the philosophical topics from the Advaita-vedanta school. Chronologically it precedes the Ramayana.

Verse 7.16.10

एवंविधा मुनिश्रेष्ठ मूढा अपि चिरायुषः ।
भवन्त्यनियमो ह्यङ्ग दीर्घायुष्यस्य कारणम् ॥ १० ॥

evaṃvidhā muniśreṣṭha mūḍhā api cirāyuṣaḥ |
bhavantyaniyamo hyaṅga dīrghāyuṣyasya kāraṇam || 10 ||

Then the vidyadhara said; I understand, O chief of sages, that it is in this manner, that dull people also become long living in this world; and it is this true knowledge, which is the cause of the great longevity of yours and other sages.
