अर्धं सज्जनसंपर्कादविद्याया विनश्यति ।
चतुर्भागस्तु शास्त्रार्थैश्चतुर्भागं स्वयत्नतः ॥ ३७ ॥

ardhaṃ sajjanasaṃparkādavidyāyā vinaśyati |
caturbhāgastu śāstrārthaiścaturbhāgaṃ svayatnataḥ || 37 ||

Thus half of one's spiritual gloom being dispelled by association with the holy; the remaining two fourths are removed, by religious learning and one's own faith and devotion.
