The Sanskrit edition of the Yoga-vasistha including English translation and grammatical analysis. Chronologically it precedes the Ramayana.

Verse 7.10.1

भुशुण्ड उवाच ।
विद्धि त्वं चेतनादेव चेतनेतरचेतनम् ।
जलेऽग्निरिव चिज्जाड्ये नातो भिन्ने मनागपि ॥ १ ॥

bhuśuṇḍa uvāca |
viddhi tvaṃ cetanādeva cetanetaracetanam |
jale'gniriva cijjāḍye nāto bhinne manāgapi || 1 ||

Bhusunda continued:—Know O Vidyadhara! the world as an evolution of Divine intelligence, and not as an inert mass and distinct from that intelligence as it appears to be. And as the reflection of fire (or fiery sunbeams) in water, is nothing different from the nature of the cold water; so the reflection of the world in the Divine intelligence, is not at all distinct from the substance of that Intelligence itself.
