The Sanskrit edition of the Yoga-vasistha including English translation and grammatical analysis. The Yogavasistha is a Hindu spiritual text written by Valmiki (who also authored the Ramayana) dealing with the philosophical topics from the Advaita-vedanta school. Chronologically it precedes the Ramayana.

समाकर्ण्य गुरोर्वाक्यं यतन्ते ये स्वयत्नतः ।
संकल्पत्यागमामूलं पदप्राप्तौ जयन्ति ते ॥ ६ ॥

samākarṇya gurorvākyaṃ yatante ye svayatnataḥ |
saṃkalpatyāgamāmūlaṃ padaprāptau jayanti te || 6 ||

Those who strive diligently to get rid of their desires altogether, according to the instructions of their preceptors (as given before);verily they become successful in obtaining the supreme state.
