The Sanskrit edition of the Yoga-vasistha including English translation and grammatical analysis. The Yogavasistha is a Hindu spiritual text written by Valmiki (who also authored the Ramayana) dealing with the philosophical topics from the Advaita-vedanta school. Chronologically it precedes the Ramayana.

लोभो लज्जा मदो मोहो येनादाविति नो जिताः ।
निरर्थकमनर्थेऽस्मिन्स किमर्थं प्रवर्तते ॥ २१ ॥

lobho lajjā mado moho yenādāviti no jitāḥ |
nirarthakamanarthe'sminsa kimarthaṃ pravartate || 21 ||

The man who has not overcome his egotism, and its concomitants of covetousness, pride and delusion, doth in vain attend to these lectures which are useless to him.
