The Sanskrit edition of the Yoga-vasistha including English translation and grammatical analysis. The Yogavasistha is a Hindu spiritual text written by Valmiki (who also authored the Ramayana) dealing with the philosophical topics from the Advaita-vedanta school. Chronologically it precedes the Ramayana.

Verse 7.2.42

अचेतनं विदुर्मोक्षं ज्ञं प्रत्येवोपदेशगीः ।
त्यागो हि कर्मणां तस्मादादेहं नोपपद्यते ॥ ४२ ॥

acetanaṃ vidurmokṣaṃ jñaṃ pratyevopadeśagīḥ |
tyāgo hi karmaṇāṃ tasmādādehaṃ nopapadyate || 42 ||

“That utter insensibility is liberation,” is well known to the learned as the teaching of the Veda; hence no one is exempted from action, as long as he lives with his sensible body.
