The Sanskrit edition of the Yoga-vasistha including English translation and grammatical analysis. The Yogavasistha is a Hindu spiritual text written by Valmiki (who also authored the Ramayana) dealing with the philosophical topics from the Advaita-vedanta school. Chronologically it precedes the Ramayana.

Verse 7.2.27

मुने चेतनमेवाद्यं कर्मणां बीजमुच्यते ।
तस्मिन्सति महाशाखो जायते देहशाल्मलिः ॥ २७ ॥

mune cetanamevādyaṃ karmaṇāṃ bījamucyate |
tasminsati mahāśākho jāyate dehaśālmaliḥ || 27 ||

It is our percipience, O Sage, which is said to be the source and root of our actions and whenever there is this principle in the mind, it causes the body to grow in the form of the big Sirsapatra.
