The Yogavasistha is a Hindu spiritual text written by Valmiki (who also authored the Ramayana) dealing with the philosophical topics from the Advaita-vedanta school. Chronologically it precedes the Ramayana.

स्वयं विचार्यं स्वयमेव चेतसा तत्प्राप्यते येन न शोचते पुनः ।
सत्संगसच्छास्त्रविवेकतः पुनर्वैराग्ययुक्तेन विभाव्यमेतत् ॥ ६५ ॥
svayaṃ vicāryaṃ svayameva cetasā tatprāpyate yena na śocate punaḥ |
satsaṃgasacchāstravivekataḥ punarvairāgyayuktena vibhāvyametat || 65 ||
Now consider all this in your own mind, and you will get the truth which will prevent all your sorrows; associate moreover with the learned and study the best books, which with the help of your reasoning and resignation, may lead you to endless felicity.
