The Sanskrit edition of the Yoga-vasistha including English translation and grammatical analysis. The Yogavasistha is a Hindu spiritual text written by Valmiki (who also authored the Ramayana) dealing with the philosophical topics from the Advaita-vedanta school. Chronologically it precedes the Ramayana.

इच्छाविच्छुरितो जीवो विजहाति न दीनताम् ।
स्वसंवेदनयत्नस्तु तूष्णीमेवान्तरासनम् ॥ ८९ ॥

icchāvicchurito jīvo vijahāti na dīnatām |
svasaṃvedanayatnastu tūṣṇīmevāntarāsanam || 89 ||

The concupiscent soul, is never freed from its miserliness; while the mere effort of one's indifference, makes it set quiet in itself.
