The Sanskrit edition of the Yoga-vasistha including English translation and grammatical analysis. The Yogavasistha is a Hindu spiritual text written by Valmiki (who also authored the Ramayana) dealing with the philosophical topics from the Advaita-vedanta school. Chronologically it precedes the Ramayana.

ग्राम्यासु जडचेष्टासु सततं विचिकित्सति ।
नोदाहरति मर्माणि पुण्यकर्माणि सेवते ॥ ९ ॥

grāmyāsu jaḍaceṣṭāsu satataṃ vicikitsati |
nodāharati marmāṇi puṇyakarmāṇi sevate || 9 ||

He who condemns the rustic amusements and mean employments of men;and instead of taking up the faults and failings of others for his merry talk, employs himself to meritorious acts.
