The Sanskrit edition of the Yoga-vasistha including English translation and grammatical analysis. The Yogavasistha is a Hindu spiritual text written by Valmiki (who also authored the Ramayana) dealing with the philosophical topics from the Advaita-vedanta school. Chronologically it precedes the Ramayana.

विनाशवाडवाक्रान्तं भीमं काममहार्णवम् ।
जगज्जालतरङ्गिण्यो यान्ति भूततरङ्गिकाः ॥ १२ ॥

vināśavāḍavākrāntaṃ bhīmaṃ kāmamahārṇavam |
jagajjālataraṅgiṇyo yānti bhūtataraṅgikāḥ || 12 ||

The world resembles the vast ocean, and all its created are like the waves upon its surface; they rise for a moment, only to be succumbed to the latent flame of their insatiable desires.
