The Sanskrit edition of the Yoga-vasistha including English translation and grammatical analysis. The Yogavasistha is a Hindu spiritual text written by Valmiki (who also authored the Ramayana) dealing with the philosophical topics from the Advaita-vedanta school. Chronologically it precedes the Ramayana.

चित्ते गलति गीर्वाणगणस्य स्पृहणीयताम् ।
साधुर्गच्छत्युदेत्यस्य समता शीतचन्द्रिका ॥ ८ ॥

citte galati gīrvāṇagaṇasya spṛhaṇīyatām |
sādhurgacchatyudetyasya samatā śītacandrikā || 8 ||

The virtuous man becomes a favourite of the Gods, after his mind is melted down with its passions; and then there rises the calm evenness of his soul, resembling the cooling beams of the moon.
