The Sanskrit edition of the Yoga-vasistha including English translation and grammatical analysis. The Yogavasistha is a Hindu spiritual text written by Valmiki (who also authored the Ramayana) dealing with the philosophical topics from the Advaita-vedanta school. Chronologically it precedes the Ramayana.

पावकाव्यतिरेकेण ज्वालाली येन भाव्यते ।
तस्याग्निबुद्धिरेकास्ति निर्विकल्पः स उच्यते ॥ १२ ॥

pāvakāvyatirekeṇa jvālālī yena bhāvyate |
tasyāgnibuddhirekāsti nirvikalpaḥ sa ucyate || 12 ||

He who views the flame as the same with its fire, has the knowledge of the fire only in his mind, and does not know the duality of the flame, as a thing distinct from its unity.
