The Sanskrit edition of the Yoga-vasistha including English translation and grammatical analysis. The Yogavasistha is a Hindu spiritual text written by Valmiki (who also authored the Ramayana) dealing with the philosophical topics from the Advaita-vedanta school. Chronologically it precedes the Ramayana.

Verse 6.109.36

मया तदत्र किं देव करोषि मम गौरवम् ।
शिखिध्वज उवाच ।
त्वया यथा वरारोहे स्वार्थः संपाद्यते शुभः ॥ ३६ ॥

mayā tadatra kiṃ deva karoṣi mama gauravam |
śikhidhvaja uvāca |
tvayā yathā varārohe svārthaḥ saṃpādyate śubhaḥ || 36 ||

Sikhidvaja replied:—O you most excellent among women, you are here at your liberty to do whatever you think best; as it is the prerogative of respectable ladies, to manage everything in their own way.
