The Sanskrit edition of the Yoga-vasistha including English translation and grammatical analysis. The Yogavasistha is a Hindu spiritual text written by Valmiki (who also authored the Ramayana) dealing with the philosophical topics from the Advaita-vedanta school. Chronologically it precedes the Ramayana.

परमेष्ठिप्रभृतयः सर्व एवोदिताशयाः ।
देहावस्थासु तिष्ठन्ति नियतेरेष निश्चयः ॥ ४५ ॥

parameṣṭhiprabhṛtayaḥ sarva evoditāśayāḥ |
dehāvasthāsu tiṣṭhanti niyatereṣa niścayaḥ || 45 ||

Even the great Brahma and the gods, are subject to the conditions of their bodily frames; nor have they with their great understandings, the power to avoid what is determined by irrevocable destiny.
