The Sanskrit edition of the Yoga-vasistha including English translation and grammatical analysis. The Yogavasistha is a Hindu spiritual text written by Valmiki (who also authored the Ramayana) dealing with the philosophical topics from the Advaita-vedanta school. Chronologically it precedes the Ramayana.

सन्तो विदितवेद्या ये ते हि हर्षविषादजाम् ।
नाश्रयन्ति स्थितिं स्वस्थाः पद्मा इव जलार्द्रताम् ॥ ३८ ॥

santo viditavedyā ye te hi harṣaviṣādajām |
nāśrayanti sthitiṃ svasthāḥ padmā iva jalārdratām || 38 ||

Holy saints and the knowers of the knowable one like you, are never moved by joy or grief; but remain untouched by them, as the lotuses remain intact in the water.
