The Sanskrit edition of the Yoga-vasistha including English translation and grammatical analysis. The Yogavasistha is a Hindu spiritual text written by Valmiki (who also authored the Ramayana) dealing with the philosophical topics from the Advaita-vedanta school. Chronologically it precedes the Ramayana.

Verse 6.100.21

नास्ति चित्तमिति ज्ञानात्तत्समूलं विनश्यति ।
यथा रज्ज्वां भुजङ्गत्वमज्ञानभ्रमसंभवम् ॥ २१ ॥

nāsti cittamiti jñānāttatsamūlaṃ vinaśyati |
yathā rajjvāṃ bhujaṅgatvamajñānabhramasaṃbhavam || 21 ||

The knowledge of the want of a mind, serves to root out its prejudice at once; as the knowledge of the rope as no snake, removes the fear of the reptile in the rope.
