The Sanskrit edition of the Yoga-vasistha including English translation and grammatical analysis. The Yogavasistha is a Hindu spiritual text written by Valmiki (who also authored the Ramayana) dealing with the philosophical topics from the Advaita-vedanta school. Chronologically it precedes the Ramayana.

Verse 6.100.11

चित्तं नाशस्वभावं तद्विद्धि नाशात्मकं नृप ।
क्षणनाशो यतः कल्पचित्तशब्देन कथ्यते ॥ ११ ॥

cittaṃ nāśasvabhāvaṃ tadviddhi nāśātmakaṃ nṛpa |
kṣaṇanāśo yataḥ kalpacittaśabdena kathyate || 11 ||

Know O prince, that the destruction of the mind (or mental error), is tantamount to the destruction of the soul; and slight forgetfulness of the spirit, is hard to be retrieved in a whole kalpa.
