The Sanskrit edition of the Yoga-vasistha including English translation and grammatical analysis. The Yogavasistha is a Hindu spiritual text written by Valmiki (who also authored the Ramayana) dealing with the philosophical topics from the Advaita-vedanta school. Chronologically it precedes the Ramayana.

बीजमेव न यस्यास्ति तत्कथं वद जायते ।
अप्रतर्क्यमनाख्यं च यत्तस्य क्वेव बीजता ॥ ५ ॥

bījameva na yasyāsti tatkathaṃ vada jāyate |
apratarkyamanākhyaṃ ca yattasya kveva bījatā || 5 ||

Say how can a tree grow which has no seed for its growth, and how can God have a seed whose nature is inscrutable in thought, and inexpressible in words.
