The Sanskrit edition of the Yoga-vasistha including English translation and grammatical analysis. The Yogavasistha is a Hindu spiritual text written by Valmiki (who also authored the Ramayana) dealing with the philosophical topics from the Advaita-vedanta school. Chronologically it precedes the Ramayana.

अतोऽज्ञानात्मकं यत्तज्जगदेव न विद्यते ।
तत्राहंत्वंतदित्यादिकल्पिताः कलनाः कुतः ॥ ३ ॥

ato'jñānātmakaṃ yattajjagadeva na vidyate |
tatrāhaṃtvaṃtadityādikalpitāḥ kalanāḥ kutaḥ || 3 ||

Anything besides which is fallible or unconscious of itself, as the mind or anything of this world, can never be a positive or self-existence substance; therefore the words I, thou and this or that are only coinings of our imagination, and have no existence in reality.
