The Sanskrit edition of the Yoga-vasistha including English translation and grammatical analysis. The Yogavasistha is a Hindu spiritual text written by Valmiki (who also authored the Ramayana) dealing with the philosophical topics from the Advaita-vedanta school. Chronologically it precedes the Ramayana.

Verse 6.96.31

तस्मान्न जायते किंचित्परस्माद्ब्रह्मणो मुने ।
कथं किं लभ्यते केन यथोर्म्यादि सकारणम् ॥ ३१ ॥

tasmānna jāyate kiṃcitparasmādbrahmaṇo mune |
kathaṃ kiṃ labhyate kena yathormyādi sakāraṇam || 31 ||

So, O sage, nothing is produced by the supreme Brahma nor does anything arise from Him, like the waves from water which have their winds for their causality.
