The Sanskrit edition of the Yoga-vasistha including English translation and grammatical analysis. The Yogavasistha is a Hindu spiritual text written by Valmiki (who also authored the Ramayana) dealing with the philosophical topics from the Advaita-vedanta school. Chronologically it precedes the Ramayana.

यद्वै न कस्यचिद्बीजमनाख्यत्वान्न कारणम् ।
न किंचिज्जायते तस्मात्प्रमाणादि ततात्मनः ॥ २९ ॥

yadvai na kasyacidbījamanākhyatvānna kāraṇam |
na kiṃcijjāyate tasmātpramāṇādi tatātmanaḥ || 29 ||

That which has no name of itself, cannot be the seed of another; no nameless nothing can grow anything, nor can a commensurable world spring out of an incommensurable spirit.
