The Sanskrit edition of the Yoga-vasistha including English translation and grammatical analysis. The Yogavasistha is a Hindu spiritual text written by Valmiki (who also authored the Ramayana) dealing with the philosophical topics from the Advaita-vedanta school. Chronologically it precedes the Ramayana.

अज्ञानं शिथिलीभूतमेवं नष्टं विदुर्बुधाः ।
न नाशेन विनोदेति पूर्वसंस्थानविच्युतिः ॥ ३ ॥
ajñānaṃ śithilībhūtamevaṃ naṣṭaṃ vidurbudhāḥ |
na nāśena vinodeti pūrvasaṃsthānavicyutiḥ || 3 ||
It is said by the learned, that the knowledge of gross matter is lost with the dispersion of ignorance; and that there is no other way of getting rid of this long contracted prejudice, without our riddance from ignorance.
