The Sanskrit edition of the Yoga-vasistha including English translation and grammatical analysis. The Yogavasistha is a Hindu spiritual text written by Valmiki (who also authored the Ramayana) dealing with the philosophical topics from the Advaita-vedanta school. Chronologically it precedes the Ramayana.

कुम्भ उवाच ।
एवं जगद्भ्रमस्यास्य भावनं तावदाततम् ।
शिलीभूतस्य शीतेन सलिलस्येव रूक्षता ॥ २ ॥

kumbha uvāca |
evaṃ jagadbhramasyāsya bhāvanaṃ tāvadātatam |
śilībhūtasya śītena salilasyeva rūkṣatā || 2 ||

Kumbha replied:—The erroneous impression of the existence of the world, has so firmly laid hold of the minds of men; as the frozen water appearing as crystal, is believed as dry land by people.
