The Sanskrit edition of the Yoga-vasistha including English translation and grammatical analysis. The Yogavasistha is a Hindu spiritual text written by Valmiki (who also authored the Ramayana) dealing with the philosophical topics from the Advaita-vedanta school. Chronologically it precedes the Ramayana.

एवंरूपस्य मे लग्नं नूनं मलमकारणम् ।
सकारणं वाहमिति यत्पदं च न वेद्म्यहम् ॥ ३८ ॥

evaṃrūpasya me lagnaṃ nūnaṃ malamakāraṇam |
sakāraṇaṃ vāhamiti yatpadaṃ ca na vedmyaham || 38 ||

I perceive thus my egoism to be attached to my body, but whether it is a caused or causeless principle, is what I am perfectly ignorant of.
