The Sanskrit edition of the Yoga-vasistha including English translation and grammatical analysis. The Yogavasistha is a Hindu spiritual text written by Valmiki (who also authored the Ramayana) dealing with the philosophical topics from the Advaita-vedanta school. Chronologically it precedes the Ramayana.

Verse 6.94.28

चित्तकण्टकखण्डस्य भवत्येवमचित्तता ।
शिखिध्वज उवाच ।
अहंभावात्मनश्चित्तद्रुमबीजस्य हे मुने ।
कोऽनलो दहनाख्येऽस्मिन्कर्मण्यर्थकरो भवेत् ॥ २८ ॥

cittakaṇṭakakhaṇḍasya bhavatyevamacittatā |
śikhidhvaja uvāca |
ahaṃbhāvātmanaścittadrumabījasya he mune |
ko'nalo dahanākhye'sminkarmaṇyarthakaro bhavet || 28 ||

Sikhidvaja said:—Tell me O my sagely guide, what is that fire which is able to burn away the seed of the tree of mind, which is covered all over with the cuticle of egoism.
